RNGdle versus Wordle
Updated 2026-10-01
Wordle asks you to find a five-letter word in six guesses. RNGdle asks you to press a button once and live with an integer from 0 to 1,000,000. The shared idea is “come back tomorrow”, not the puzzle.
| RNGdle | Wordle | |
|---|---|---|
| Cadence | One roll a day | One word a day |
| Input | A button | Up to six guesses |
| Skill | None in the rules | Letter knowledge |
| Result | Badges and EP | Solved or failed |
| Range | 0 to 1,000,000 | A hidden word |
Lists that file RNGdle under “games like Wordle” are talking about the calendar, then filling the rest of the list with more word games. That is a directory choice. It does not make 420420 a word puzzle. The number side of RNGdle is documented on what RNGdle is.
What I checked myself
The rule comparison uses the official game pages and the visible Boing Boing headline and description, including “no skill needed”. Wordle gives letter feedback between guesses. RNGdle describes a single random roll rather than a sequence of guesses. That is a difference in the published rules, not a claim based on personal play history.

Questions people ask
Is RNGdle a Wordle clone?
It borrows the daily habit. The about page describes a random number, badges, and EP, not guesses at a word.
